About FSAE
Formula SAE (FSAE), sanctioned by the Society of Automotive Engineers, is an international collegiate competition that challenges teams ran entirely by students to design, fund, build, and race formula-style open-wheel race cars. With nearly 500 teams worldwide, FSAE is the largest engineering competition in the world.
At the end of each academic year, teams gather at Michigan International Speedway for a five-day competition. Approximately 120 international teams compete for the title of Formula SAE World Champion.

Acceleration
Measures the car’s straight-line acceleration over a set distance, with points awarded based on performance relative to the fastest car.
Skidpad
Tests cornering ability on a figure-eight course with constant-radius left and right turns.
Autocross
Evaluates handling and maneuverability through a tight, technical course with a variety of turns and features.
Endurance
Tests the car’s reliability, durability, and overall performance over a long, high-speed course.
Efficiency
Measures the car’s energy efficiency during the Endurance event, rewarding teams that achieve strong performance while minimizing energy use.
